Sam Smith has announced that their fifth studio album, Hazel Eyes, will be released on August 21. The announcement arrived alongside the debut of the album’s lead single, My Guy, giving fans a first look at the project’s sound and direction.
Smith said the album was created over more than three years with a close group of collaborators and described it as their most personal record to date. They also explained that My Guy was written to capture the warmth, closeness, and joy of being deeply in love.
The 12-track album was co-produced by Smith alongside Simon Aldred and David Odlum. Much of the project was developed in New York, with part of the recording taking place at Electric Lady Studios. The album also includes contributions from artists such as Feist, Shahzad Ismaily, Rob Moose, and The TwoCity Chorus.
Hazel Eyes follows Smith’s 2023 album Gloria and also features the previously released songs Love Is A Stillness and To Be Free. Ahead of the album’s release, Smith is continuing a series of live performances, including a special appearance during NYC Pride Weekend.
