JENNIE’s latest solo single, Less Than a Lover, took first place in a weekly favorite new music poll. The BLACKPINK member’s song received more than 62% of the total vote, giving it a clear lead over the other releases included.
Billboard announced the poll results after voting closed, highlighting the strong listener response to the track during its opening weekend. The competition also featured new music from KATSEYE, Tyla, Charli xcx, Fridayy, Macario Martinez and several other artists.
Released on July 24, Less Than a Lover explores the uncertain space between friendship and romance. The production combines soft guitars, vintage-style keyboards and relaxed lo-fi elements, giving the song a gentle and reflective sound.
JENNIE also contributed to the writing, production and visual direction of the release. The accompanying video was filmed in Girona, Spain, and follows a warm summer story without relying on a traditional romantic ending.
The poll victory adds another notable achievement to JENNIE’s growing solo career outside BLACKPINK.
